Pono Woodworks | The Waterman – I bought this watch in 2019 from Amazon for $260. I had a future trip to some beach island somewhere and I thought it would be nice to have a unique “dive” watch for the trip. I used to live on Oahu and discovered this is a local Honolulu shop specializing in watches, jewelry and art with a koa wood main component.
Before I knew anything about watch or movements, I enjoyed this watch but have not worn it often. It came with a PIA fly clasp and I converted it to a buckle. I should wear it more.
47mm diameter. 24mm lug width. 54mm lug-to-lug, 14mm height.
The Waterman Koa wood watch has finally surfaced…breath deep or maybe gasp…it’s pretty sweet. The original Hawaiian Watermen used koa to make outrigger canoes, surfboards, and sailing canoes…pretty much everything we love about being on the water. The Waterman was inspired by these ideals of a life lived best on and around the water. It’s Hawaiian time, redefined.
