ARAGON MILLIPEDE ROTATOR

Aragon Millipede Rotator Model A452WHT – This is my 2nd Aragon and I doubt you can find anyone in the watch-sphere that would challenge Wing’s passion for robust, crazy and creative watches!  Final production is done in the good ‘ol USA, and Aragon is based in Florida.

My 1st Aragon was really about seeing how a 50mm dial looked on my 8″ wrist.  It actually wore and looked great, just a little too industrial for a daily driver. This case is 43mm and actually wears bigger than that because of the “thick” bezel I would guess.

The primary driving force for this pickup was the millipede bracelet.  It is FREAKY and FUN!  The Aragon website photos are not really that good, so it is sort of hard to get what this wacky bolts and bracelet looks like on the wrist.  Combined with the “chromed” finish on the link matching the “Hummer” case thickness, it absolutely works.  A word of warning – there is not a readily available tool like a box end wrench, so it requires the two-handed coordination with pliers or needle-nose to remove links.

The secondary driving force for this watch pickup was I needed aka wanted an USA “patriotic” themed watch without it being perceived as political.  I see these F1 drivers on the podium proud of their countries as they play their respective national anthem.  The whole MAGA thing here unfortunately has translated national pride to an ego flex.  So, this red and blue (Pepsi) bezel with the white blades looked subtlety patriotic to me.

As luck would have it, I came across another collectors’ hobby – metal, die-cast toy trucks made by HESS.  Nowadays, it seems they do about three collectibles per year and especially at Christmas.  So, I order this really cool setup because it is great for general tabletop photography but, also this gave my new watch a sense of pairing with the First Responders community.  I dig it!  Do you?
