BERNY Automatic Full-Lume Railroad Watch #AM138M-L – I have always been interested in the history of the Mondaine Swiss railroad watch, as it was the merging of the working class and Bauhaus-inspired design.
The original movement was unlike other watches and unique because of the following fact: By spreading 58 seconds over the 360 degrees (rather than the usual 60 seconds), the second hand comes to a complete stop at the 12 numeral for two seconds, giving the illusion that time has stopped. Then, the minute hand advances one step and the second hand starts a new cycle.
This was my 4th experiment in ordering customized logo watches from Chinese companies and the first three were not seamless transactions but still a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ experience. High quality watches for a fraction of the cost.
What makes this Berny customized watch unique and potentially better is that you “build” your watch online so you can see how your logo and text will render and then just BUY NOW and the order passes through. I think this was a new process for their website because when I followed up on the order my customizations had not been attached to the order. Fortunately, I had done a screen grab of my customizations and was able to send that to them with the original artwork, and the order moved along swiftly.
What is really amazing where the other watches just offered one logo in one location, this Berny there were four areas to customize all for the same price at around $100!!
